“When logic and
reason runs out, all you have left is faith.”
Life is merciless. Life
will strike you when you are down, when you are on your last dollar,
when you are holding on to your last breath. That moment you think
nothing can get worse, life has a response. Your goals, dreams, and
ambitions seem farther and farther away. Those you hold dear in your
life, may leave you at a time you needed them most. Things you took
for granted may be temporary and never appear in your life ever
again. Opportunities you were once waiting for, vanish into the
shadows and will never present themselves to you again. You feel like
you have nothing left to hold on to, nothing left to fight for. You
deem your purpose in life as pointless. You lose your fight, your
drive, your motivation, your heart, your desire for another breath.
First, your mind turns to
logic. Alright, logically things could turn around. It's possible. It
COULD happen. Logic in your head tells you there are other scenarios,
other alternative routes to a brighter future, other events that
could take place in your life. With logic, you can hold on for a
moment. You feel like you at least have a way out of the current
state you are in. You take a step back, take a breath, and seem to
understand that change is possible. You could possibly get out of
this situation alive. You start to weigh out your options and courses
in which you find yourself possibly departing on. Questioning
yourself as to which course deems possible in your journey to a
better life, you then create questions in your head.
Then your mind creeps over
toward reason. Now, reason is a bit of a pain in the ass. Reason can
be influenced by a person's state of mind, past experience, feelings
on the issue, etc. Reasoning is when you start to weigh everything
out and contemplate whether your possibly logical conclusions could
happen and why. When you use reason to determine why something is
happening to you, most likely a third party individual could use
their reasoning skills and come up with an alternate outcome in their
mind. Let's face it, reasoning is biased as can be, and must be used
during a clear and calm state of mind. Depending on the severity and
critical your situation effects your mindset and logic, reasoning may
have little to no effect on boosting your drive to work through your
time of hardship and adversity.
When the dust settles, and
the air becomes clear, there is one last line of support one reaches
out to. Faith. Faith is the purpose for your fight, your struggle,
your hustle, your drive, your motivation, your sense of meaning.
Faith, in God (or any individual's worshiped deity), gives you that
last breath of hope that maybe life can change. You put your life in
His hands, to guide you through the darkness, for without darkness,
there would be no light. You give your all to God, and pray that you
see better days. Sometimes, prayer is all you have. Finding yourself
at a crossroad in life, you let your faith lift your spirits. Faith
brings you purpose. Life without meaning is not life at all. So when
you take the time to think of your purpose here on Earth, of why you
exist, of the meaning behind the madness, you draw conclusions that
construct your faith. Faith in God leads you to understand that
everything happens for a reason, to better yourself or someone you
come in contact with. Your hardships may inspire others, may show
others what the human race is possible of. A glimpse of your smile on
a bad day, may lead someone to change their life. A good dead you may
have partaken in, may create a chain of positive thoughts or actions
in which help influence the rise of kindness among man-kind. A
hardship or difficult relationship may help sculpt and mold your
significant other, or yourself, into the better individual you will
become.
When logic and reasoning
runs out, and all you have left is faith, that is all you need. Faith
is your logic. Faith is your reasoning. Faith is your purpose. For
without purpose, what are you fighting for? Purpose gives us life. So
when you feel like you have ran out of logic, and reason is running
low, lean toward faith. Faith is the answer.
