Entrepreneur Development: Marketing Your Service

Entrepreneur Development: Marketing Your Service
BE WALKING PROOF!

By Hussien Jabai

Looking back at my last article post, we discussed the principles of diving in to the business world
and the start of making moves. This article of the Entrepreneur Development series will pertain to a few tips toward marketing your given service, particularly personal training. I will be discussing concepts mainly orientated toward personal trainers because that is my current avenue and I have more experience in that in the business realm. The last thing I would ever consider is business advice in crap I have no clue about or experience in. Here are 5 of my tips for marketing yourself as a personal trainer:

Personality
You are saying I have to have a great body AND personality to go with it?! That is exactly what I am saying. People don’t give a single care in the world how good looking you are unless they feel comfortable with your presence and enjoy being around you. Humor and being outgoing will take you a long way in the fitness industry. Be humble, kind, and also go the extra mile. Make sure to smile and give off a positive vibe to every potential client you face (AKA every human on earth).

Marketability of Product
Is your service even something worth marketing? Can it be marketable? Depends on what kind of training you provide, the demographic of the area, the financial stability of those around you, and the expense of your product. The last thing you want to do, is market a crappy training camp, with absolutely no structure, at $100.000, 000 per person, in a low income neighborhood. Make sure you have a solid product or service, aiming for the right audience, with a set price that is very fair, if not cheap, for your consumers to want to purchase it or give it a try since it is so cheap.

Confidence
“Psh, Hussien… I have confidence in myself. I know I look good bro.”
This means absolutely crap. Confidence is key when you have faith and belief in your product or service. Stand by your work day in and day out. Own what you do. Have confidence in your ability to transform the lives of others, and know that they won’t be able to find anything like your results from any other trainer. BE IRREPLACEABLE!! End of story.

Look the part
Okay, so you need personality and confidence, but you also need to resemble what you sell. You are the face and image of your brand. You are walking proof that you can make shit happen bro! Train and work your ass off to show that your programming works and that they can achieve similar results if they bust their butt just like you. Be the testimonial. Don’t just preach it.

Don’t chase a sale
The last damn thing you ever want to do is worry about every sale that walks in. Don’t walk up to every person starting out with defining your service and asking for a client. Immediately the individual labels you as a salesman, and begins to ignore everything you said. No one will believe your words from then on, because everything you say then becomes bias. Make sure you simply help gym goers and give out advice. Tend to their needs and make them feel at home. Be as much of help to them as possible, educating them, and when the time comes and they decide that they need a trainer.. well guess who is there waiting? YOU! Unless you are over somewhere else chasing another client.
Got it?

Alright guys and girl, that was my 5 main points for marketing your service as a personal trainer. I hope this Entrepreneur Development series helps out you ambitious little leaders! We will all make it in the end, and MAKE IT HAPPEN CAPTAIN!
