Social Media Presence

What is freaking up everyone?!
Last article of this Entrepreneur Development series discussed the concepts of Marketing Your Services, which you can view if you CLICK HERE. This article is geared toward your Social Media Presence and how to attract your target audience. I will talk about 5 of my top key points toward developing an elite level outreach when aiming for a specific audience and selling a specific product/service.
Quality over Quantity
Over and over, countless times I see individuals post non-stop about any kind of service, blog, videos, or whatever you can think of. Is that okay to keep your audience updated? SURE! But most of the individuals that view your posts or follow you might just skip half of what you post because they are just going to be like...”Oh my gosh, he posted his third post of the day. Oh hey look it's another add just like the other one.” Trust me, when I first started that's how I was. Post so often that people had to notice right? WRONG! People get annoyed, low interest, and your work loses value. Take the time to make a long post, in full detail, that gives your audience something of high value. Of quality. MAKE THE AUDIENCE MISS YOU! Which sounds weird. But have you ever watched a series, and it takes a week for the next episode to come on. All that week you are dying to see what happens next? Exactly. Provide content for your viewers, let them miss you a bit, then they will be begging to see more content from you. Then, you will know your viewers value your time and content. If they don't stick around, they didn't really care anyways, they just wanted free shit.

Give without asking in return
As a business view point, it's like, “You are kidding right? Giving, and just no one buying in? Are you wanting to go bankrupt?” Which, I can see your concern. BUT, you don't have to spend anything other than time, so it's of no initial cost to you. Time is valuable, so make sure the content you give holds some kind of purpose. For me, I provide FREE programs, peaking charts, demonstration videos, etc in which individuals know I will do my best to provide them with as much good content as possible without trying to just sell them crap. But, you become a credible source. If anyone wishes to look for a program, the individual that knows my site would consider sharing my information to help their friend. Your service or content spreads through referral. They get programs or info, and you get publicity and traffic. It's a win win for everyone.

Build up value
Now, we talked about giving without asking in return, which leads into building up your value with the individual or potential customer. For instance, the more high quality content that you provide, that actually helps the viewer in some form or fashion, makes you more and more credible through their eyes. They start to view you as a credible source, and start using you as a reference when speaking to others. If someone they know has a question, you simple view the credible sources site, contact that source, or refer the individual to goto any of that source's content to retrieve an answer. If you have noticed, you still are not simply asking for some sort of service. It is a constant build of value. Only when the individual is asking for some sort of info or help which falls into the lines of what service you provide, is when you turn around and say, “Hey, well I do offer such and such on my site for free, but if you wish to take things to the next level and need direct work, I do happen to provide training or coaching services that may interest you. If you wish to gain more pertaining toward that route, simply let me know and we can set up a time for a consultation to see how I can assist you further!”
You didn't ask for anything! You simply provided them with an option. The rest is up to them!

Be unique (find your niche)
Be unique sounds so simple. I mean we are all individuals right? But when it comes to developing a business and designing the look and feel to it, we tend to lean toward what we know or what has worked for others. Which is fine, possibly. But, to stand out, simply take a bit of what you have learned from EVERY avenue and source you deem credible, then add some sort of unique spin to the cluster of ideas. Make it your own, with your own motto, own audience, own agenda, own feel to the marketing stand point. Can you get business as a carbon copy of a successful business? Sure. But are you going to stand out or move high up in the business world? Hell no. Be unique. Be yourself.

Interact & respond
Alright, so the last little bit I want to talk about is probably the most time consuming, yet the MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT of social media presence. INTERACTION! Boom! It's responding to comment, to emails, posts, and whatever you deem as someone's initial way of outreach. It could be commenting on posts of individuals that don't know you, but simply admiring their work or congratulating them on what they have achieved. It could be just starting up a discussion about your cats and love for dang animals. It could be WHATEVER! But the goal is to always engage in conversion and get to know people. If people know you, they interact with you, they soon feel comfortable with you, then they seem to trust you. END OF STORY. Engage in meaningful conversation. Yes, meaningful. And every talk about how you can assist them further by just being their as ears to help them through situations or struggles.
Regardless of how epic you think your service might be, social media presence is key toward a successful business endeavor. Just because you are amazing at what you do, doesn't mean little Jimmy down the block has even heard of you. Shit, doesn't mean little Billy in the next state over even knows that you provide online coaching! So make sure you have a great social media presence in which to provide viewers and supporters with the best experience possible of what you have to provide.
Become a guide.
Become credible.
Become a resource.
